SPANA: Assistant to the Veterinary Director

SPANA is a UK-based charity established in 1923 providing free veterinary care to working equids in poor communities overseas, principally in Northern and West Africa and the Middle East. We employ locally qualified veterinary surgeons and animal technicians who work out of purpose built centres and mobile clinics that visit markets, villages and farms. We also have a significant education programme and are increasingly involved in emergency assistance.

The position will be London based but involve considerable overseas travel and work (3-4 months per year). We are looking for someone who can assist with all aspects of the Veterinary Department’s role from maintaining and developing clinical standards, facilitating CPD courses for staff, managing veterinary volunteers, to improving links with supporters and suppliers in the UK and elsewhere.
