Dr.Abdul Rahman is a retired Professor of Parasitology and former Dean of the Bangalore Veterinary College, India. He has 40 years of service as a teacher and has specialized in Animal Welfare and Zoonotic Diseases. He has been involved in veterinary association activities for the last 40 years, being the Secretary and Vice President of Indian Veterinary Association for 14 years. He was the councilor, regional representative, secretary and president of the Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA). He is currently the Executive Director and Past President of CVA.
Dr.Rahman chaired the OIE Working Group on Animal Welfare and was the Chair of the WVA Zoonotic Diseases Working Group and a member of the Constitution and Bylaws committee of WVA. He is one of the Trustees of Alliance for Rabies Control and founder member of Association for Prevention and Control of Rabies in India (APCRI).
He has been associated with WVA activities since 1986 representing India to WVA in the eighties and was elected as the WVA Councilor representing International associations in 2015.
His vision for WVA is to be actively engaged in the upliftment of the Veterinary profession especially in the developing countries of the world.
