Councillor for Africa
Dr. Gani Enahoro has been in small animal, private veterinary practice since 1986, when he set up Gan-Rovet Animal Hospital, located at a permanent site in Warri, the Oil city of Delta State, Nigeria. He was the National Chairman, Association of Private Veterinary Practitioners in Nigeria (2008-2011), and was a past National President, Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) 2011-2013.
Dr. Gani Enahoro has been in the forefront of coordinating activities of the 54-nation African Veterinary Association (AVA) as Vice President since 2013, and is currently one of the two elected World Veterinary Association (WVA) Councillors for Africa.
He is very passionate about veterinary practice and has published several articles in the Nigerian national and some other international dailies and magazines. His keen interest in animal welfare has seen him carry out pro-bono services for rescued animals and indigent dog/ cat owners who are unable to afford the cost of veterinary care. He is also into production of short documentary videos against cruelty in animals, distributed through several social media and he frequently feature on radio and television promoting the adoption of one-health that incorporates animal health, human health and environment as the only panacea for improved public health.
