WVA Information: Message from WVA President Dr Leon Russell

 Dear Colleagues:
As all of you know, World Veterinary for 2008 is the 26th of April. This is the way that we in the veterinary profession call the attention of the public, and many of our own colleagues, to the great breadth of good that veterinarians do world-wide for the health and welfare of the animals in our care. This day recognizes the majestic array of experts in the veterinary profession who contribute widely throughout the world, including the protecting the safety of our food supply and the environment through veterinary skills and dedicated work.
This year, the first OIE-WVA World Veterinary Day Award will be presented to the national veterinary association that has the outstanding World Veterinary Day celebration. The OIE-WVA World Veterinary Day Award will consist of a beautiful plaque, certificate and a cash prize which will be presented at the World Veterinary Congress in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 31 July 2008.
