The study of veterinary medicine (normal period of 11 semesters) is divided according to the Approbation Regulation (TAppV) of 27 July 2006 in a pre-clinical and clinical studies. The preclinical study comprises the scientific section (physics, chemistry, zoology and botany) and the anatomical and physiological point (anatomy, histology and embryology, physiology, biochemistry, animal breeding and genetics) and, according to at least 4 semesters with the Veterinary diploma (Physikum) ab.Das clinical studies are completed with the veterinary examination and includes, 5 to 11 Semester following examination subjects: Animal Husbandry and animal health, animal welfare and ethology, animal nutrition, clinical Propaedeutics, virology, bacteriology and mycology, parasitology, animal disease control and infectious disease epidemiology, pharmacology and toxicology, medicinal and narcotic drugs, poultry diseases, radiology, general pathology and special pathologic anatomy and histology, food hygiene, meat hygiene, milk hygiene, reproductive medicine, internal medicine, surgery and anesthesiology and Forensic Veterinary Medicine, professional and Standesrecht. The 10th and 11th Semesters provide for a practical-clinical year are taught in the veterinary skills in the clinics of the Faculty. In this section also includes practical training, which to be completed outside the Faculty. Overall, the study includes a veterinary internship of at least 30 weeks.
