AVMF Is Now Accepting Applications For the 2014 Aquatic Veterinary Educational Grant Program

The AVMF is proud to annouce the 2014 Aquatic Veterinary Educational Grant Program for veterinary students and recent graduates.

The World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association (WAVMA) in collaboration with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) will award up to 20 Aquatic Veterinary Education Grants (up to $1000 each) to veterinary students and recent graduates of veterinary medicine who are interested in exploring a career in aquatic veterinary medicine.

This program was established in 2010 to honor John Leland Pitts, DVM (1941-2009) who contributed significantly to advancing the discipline of aquatic veterinary medicine and the involvement of veterinary students and newly graduated veterinarians.

Applications for the 2014 program will be accepted from veterinary students currently enrolled, or recent graduates (within the last 24 months) of any accredited veterinary school or college throughout the world. Awards are intended to assist veterinary students, and veterinarians that have graduated within the previous 2 years, to become involved with aquatic veterinary medicine.
