WVA - WHO collaboration plan for 2015-2018

World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board reviewed recently the WVA/WHO report of collaboration for the period of 2012-2014 and decided to maintain the official relations with the WVA.

The WVA and WHO agreed on a collaboration plan for 2015-2018 that shall result in a solid network of effective and efficient veterinary services and effective collaboration and communication mechanisms between the human, veterinary and food sectors on managing public health risks at the animal-human-ecosystem interface (One Health Concept).

The two organization engaged in promoting and increasing biosecurity at farm level, support animal disease surveillance and control efforts in order to prevent animal and zoonotic diseases, increase food safety and promoting responsible use of veterinary drugs and antimicrobials with respect to critical drug lists for animals.
