Message of Dr. S. M. Aghamiri, President of Veterinary Council, I.R.IRAN :

On behalf of Iranian veterinarians who are all the members of Iranian Veterinary Council (IRIVC), it is a great pleasure to congratulate "The World Veterinary Day" to you, all the veterinarians and those who are working in this field around the world.

The continuing growth of human population and also increasing global trade, especially regarding foodstuffs of animal origin, all together, have made many new challenges in front of veterinarians all around the Globe. One has to expose oneself to the vast body of knowledge on all the processes of production chain, from the very beginning to the food tables at home. Genetic handling, economic issues, food concern, quality control, production management and finally production safety and health issues should all be taken into account to assure the societies of safe and healthy lives.

Not only are the veterinarians involve in human, animal and environmental health but also their role in public and food safety is very well known. Only in recent years, the growing concern on global warming has made human societies and even politicians to pay more attention to the effects of ecological changes and health of the other habitants of the Earth.

I would like to thank all my colleagues around the world who contribute to a better life for others and I wish pleasant moments for them.

My best regards,
S. M. Aghamiri (DVM)
President
IRIVC
