An animal health camp was organized to commemorate World Veterinary Day by Burdwan Krishi Vigyan Kendra under Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres at BudBud in the district of Burdwan, West Bengal, India on Saturday 26th April, 2008.
The animals like cattle, goats and ducks were treated in this camp. Free packs of region specific mineral mixture, calcium supplements and deworming medicines were distributed among 90 animal raisers. A free vaccination program against Goat Pox. was also conducted.
A discussion session was also carried out under chairmanship of Dr. F.H. Rahman, Programme Coordinator, KVK, with the farmers where crop production practice simultaneously with animal rearing was urged upon towards a socio-economically improved rural India. Dr. C. Jana, Subject Matter Specialist (A.H. & V.S.) explained the importance of World Veterinary Day and conveyed the latest package of practices for sustainable livestock production.
