Essential Veterinary Medicines List (EVML)

WVA and Brooke have worked on this joint project to create a global List of essential Veterinary Medicines for food producing animals. The list is on the WVA website and is intended to be a guide for countries or regional authorities to adopt or adapt, depending on local priority conditions and treatment guidelines, to enable the development or updating of national essential medicine lists. With this List, WVA and Brooke assist countries in ensuring global medicine availability, support the process of self-evaluation, registration and license, and facilitate the regulatory oversight of veterinary pharmaceuticals.

Species-specific Working Groups worked on drafting the lists of essential medicines for large and small ruminants, equids and porcine. Aquaculture, bees, poultry, rabbits will be developed in the phase 2 of the EVML.
