This FAQ document answers the most common questions about the WVA/MSD Veterinary Student Scholarship Program that may help students around the world to understand better the Scholarship program scope, rules, and requirements. Please read this document carefully before completing the application form.
Q: I won this scholarship in the past, can I apply again?
A: Unfortunately, if you already won the WVA/MSD Veterinary Student Scholarship in the past, you cannot apply for a second scholarship program.
Q: I’m a veterinary student at my fifth year of study, can I apply for this scholarship?
A: That depends on the length of the veterinary study program at your university, for example:
- If the programme is of 4 years, you should be registered this year to the 2nd or 3rd year of study.
- If the programme is of 5 years, you should be registered to your 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study.
- If the programme is of 6 years, you should be registered to your 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year of study.
- If the veterinary program in your university is 3 + 4 years (e.g. preclinical), the last four years are considered as the veterinary program.
Q: My faculty dean is not available to write a recommendation letter, what can I do?
A: Please include in the application an explanation of why the dean is not available and provide us with a recommendation letter signed by the dean deputy.
Q: I have some photos, videos as well as extra documents that I would like to send, can I join them to the application?
A: Yes, you can. But all the additional documents, photos, and videos shall be added to the application form sent in ONE document in PDF file. Regarding videos, it is recommended to include a link to the video in the application form. Q: I’m a PhD/ Master student, can I apply to this scholarship?
A: Unfortunately, this scholarship program is only for undergraduate veterinary students.
Q: Can all countries apply to this scholarship?
A: Nationals of countries in the regions of Latin America, Africa, Middle East and Asia/Oceania can apply for the scholarship program.
