The WVA Celebrates World Earth Day 2021

The WVA celebrates World Earth Day on 22nd April to recognize the importance of global climate change emergency affecting directly and indirectly the health and welfare of animals.

Veterinarians, in their role as advocates for animal health and welfare and public health, have a responsibility to protect ecosystem health and demand action to minimize climate change. Globally, veterinarians actively contribute to climate change mitigation and environmental protection in many ways. These roles are reflected in the WVA Position on Global Climate Change Emergency that was published and endorsed recently by several WVA members. On this day, WVA calls on all veterinarians around the world to unite in the celebration of World Earth Day 2021 and to consider what veterinarians can do to protect the environment in which we live and work.
