ISAE, the International Society for Applied Ethology organized it second workshop dedicated to Animal welfare progress in India at CSIR-IGIB (South Campus, Mathura Road) in New Delhi on 28 January. The event was held in hybrid format and welcomed a total of 260 registrants.
WVA recently published two Animal Welfare Position Statements! With these two Statements we call on our members to advocate for pain recognition and management of farmed animals, and on countries to have a regulatory framework for humane care of animals in biomedical research.

The Turkish association has opened two financial aid bank accounts, one in EUR and the other in USD. Donations will be used for: veterinary clinics reconstruction, meet urgent needs or local veterinarians, aid the families and children of the colleagues who lost their lives, support veterinary students who's families are in the earthquake area and located in different cities.

The World Veterinary Association has sent letters of solidarity to the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and the Syrian Veterinary Medical Association (SVMA), stating that WVA is at the disposal of both organizations for anything that WVA can be of help and expressing solidarity and support to the Turkish and Syrian veterinary family.

The 44th Council Meeting of the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) agreed to establish a One Health Office in Fukuoka, Japan, to serve as a hub to promote One Health in Japan, Asia, and the World.
The First International Saudi Veterinary Medical Society Conference of last October included a Workshop dedicated to ‘Women's Empowerment in the Gulf Area: Looking forward to a better future’. Dr Shereen Al-Kazaz, lead this meeting.
At the beginning of 2009, a tender to host the new WVA secretariat was sent to all WVA members. From the proposals received, the WVA Council agreed unanimously that the FVE would host the new secretariat.
