WVA and Brooke sign MoU on the Essential Veterinary Medicines List

WVA and working animal charity Brooke have pledged commitment to continue work on the first global list of essential veterinary medicines. WVA and Brooke signed an agreement committing to efforts to support veterinarians and veterinary associations better access to affordable, effective medicines. The list includes over 300 medicines and vaccines for cows, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, horses and donkeys, highlighting which medicines are the most important in keeping animals healthy.

WVA and Brooke’s hosted a webinar to present the Essential Veterinary Medicines List (EVML)

WVA and Brooke hosted a webinar to publicly present the Essential Veterinary Medicines List (EVML) for food producing animals on the 26th of March. The meeting was attended by 210 participants from all over the globe, among veterinarians, international animal health agencies, pharmaceutical industry and policy makers. This collaborative effort from WVA and Brooke Action for Working Horses and Donkeys means a significant advancement in animal health but most importantly in One Health.

World Veterinary Association and Brooke launch world’s first Essential Veterinary Medicines List (EVML) for Food Producing Animals

The World Veterinary Association (WVA) and global animal welfare organisation Brooke have launched the first-ever global list of essential veterinary medicines for food producing animals. The list will help to improve access to safe and effective medicines and vaccines for veterinarians around the world and act as a valuable tool to help respond to the global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and to support pandemic prevention preparedness plans under development.
