FVE, FECAVA and WSAVA position statement: Support for a phase-out of fur farming

On 14 November 2025, the FVE General Assembly adopted the FVE, FECAVA and WSAVA position statement: Support for a phase-out of fur farming. FVE, the Federation of Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) call for the phasing out of fur farming globally. As veterinarians committed to animal health and welfare, public health and the protection of the environment, FVE, FECAVA and WSAVA believe that fur farming is no longer sustainable.

Invitation to the Animal Welfare Forum – part of the FedMVZ 2025 National Convention

The Federation of Veterinary Medical Colleges and Associations of Mexico invites you to the Animal Welfare Forum, a free-entry event that will take place on Thursday, February 20, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Mexico City time), at Salón El Alto, within the William O. Jenkins Convention Center, in Puebla, Mexico, also available for virtual participation. This forum, coordinated by WVA Councillor MVZ Arturo Sánchez Mejorada Porras and MVZ Misael Baena Álvarez, will feature renowned national and international specialists.

6th International Congress of Large Animal Practitioners in Iran

On 24-25 December 2023, the 6th International Congress of Large Animal Practitioners took place in Tehran, Iran, and had 400 attendees. The congress was held in partnership with the Iranian Association of Veterinarians and covered all aspects of bovine and equine practice and medicine.

Asia United for Animal Health and Welfare – The 22nd FAVA Congress to WVA

The Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) Congress 2023 was successfully held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Sarawak, Malaysia, with the theme "Asia United for Animal Health and Welfare." The event took place from November 3-5, 2023, and attracted a total of 823 delegates from 15 countries, including Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, Netherlands, United States, Brunei, Taiwan, Vietnam, Yemen, Myanmar, India, and Malaysia.

BVA Live: back with a bang!

Essential collaboration agreement to promote a joint One Health response in Korea

On April 4, 2023, Dr Youngmee Jee, Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) and Dr Ju Hyung Hur, President of the Korea Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), signed a collaboration agreement to prevent and manage not only zoonotic infectious diseases, but also infectious diseases transmitted by vectors (mosquitoes, ticks, etc.), foodborne infectious diseases, climate changes and antibiotic resistance in all aspects related to One Health.
