In the 7th year of the WVA/MSD Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship Program, WVA received a record number of over 600 applications, showing how important and well sought this programme is. The 80 veterinary students selected to receive a scholarship of 2,500 US Dollars are from 43 different countries from the regions of Asia and Oceania, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
These scholarships are a recognition of their academic achievements which will aid the development of their academic and future veterinary careers. WVA and MSD Animal Health are delighted to contribute to the advancement of the global veterinary community through the empowerment of veterinary students who are the future of the veterinary profession. We would like to thank all the veterinary students who submitted applications and encourage those who didn’t receive it to apply again in 2024.
The MSD Animal Health/WVA Veterinary Student Scholarship Program is designed to aid students in their educational development by offering direct financial support. Across the 7 years of the project we’ve witnessed the impact it creates in educational fulfillment and in alleviating the psychological burden of finding means and contracting loans. We receive multiple letters of thank you and testimonies of impact keep arriving years after student have benefited from the scholarship.
The 2023 applications were assessed based on academic achievement, engagement of students with their desired career path, community engagement, and letters of support from their universities.
