The WVA One Health Working Group (WG) has published a new Position Paper on Vaccine Preparedness.
It gathers valuable input from our Councillors, WG members and from multiple WVA Members. This new Position Statement can support or members and partners in Policy and Advocacy efforts looking to anticipate outbreaks of endemic diseases both at national and regional levels.
The WVA supports the view that having a robust animal vaccination preparedness plan will help a country respond quickly to emerging and reemerging animal disease threats.
In addition, regional and international collaboration is recommended when developing vaccine preparedness plans, both to help conserve limited resources and because the risk posed by the infectious agent is likely shared across national borders. As part of this collaboration, exchange of relevant surveillance data and sharing of vaccine banks.
