The WVA Working Group for Veterinary Education just published one Position Statements on Veterinary Para-Professionals.
With it, WVA recognises the critical role played by Veterinary Para-Professionals (VPPs) in supporting the performance of veterinary services (PVS) and the need for regulation under Veterinary Statutory Bodies (VSBs) or equivalent Veterinary Professional Authority (VPA) to perform their designated tasks.
WVA also recognises that in some remote and rural areas where there may be a shortage of veterinary professionals certain primary animal healthcare services may be provided by veterinary para-professionals (VPPs) as designated by territorial laws and guidelines.
Our position statements are the result of an extensive analysis and revision process by the WVA Working Groups and Council.
